Zoom has announced a security update for the Zoom client on all major devices (Mac, PC, iPhone, Android, etc.). The latest version of the Zoom software patches a vulnerability. We recommend that all CWRU Zoom users check for a software update anywhere Zoom is installed.
To get the latest version of Zoom on a Mac or PC, click the profile icon in the upper right and select “Check for Updates.” On a mobile device, check the app store for updates.
[U]Tech will also set Zoom to require the latest version of the software to join a meeting starting Friday, December 3. If your Zoom software has not been updated by then, you will be prompted by the Zoom application to do so before joining your next meeting.
If you are using a university-managed computer, the latest version of Zoom was automatically installed on your computer on Thursday, December 2.
