Technology for University Closures and Working Remotely

[U]Tech technology services that may be useful when working remotely or when the university is closed:

Zoom

Zoom is the CWRU online video conferencing platform. Users can collaborate, participate in classes and host video conferencing and audio meetings. Access Zoom at CWRU at case.edu/zoom.

Box

Box provides a cloud-based method to store, access and share files securely. It is the only approved platform for storing restricted data in the cloud at CWRU. New users must choose between two apps to access their Box account, Box Sync and Box Drive.

Canvas

Canvas is the CWRU Learning Management System, providing tools and resources for face to face and online teaching and learning. Faculty can house course materials, including assignments, announcements and tests. Students can keep track of their course assignments and work with calendars, to-do lists and the mobile app.

MediaVision Courseware (Echo360)

MediaVision Courseware (or Echo360) is the lecture capture system in use at CWRU.

Rave Alerts

Receive notifications about inclement weather, closures/reopenings and emergent situations by signing up for alerts from the Rave system.

VPN

The Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows for remote access to the campus network through a secure connection. VPN requires use of Duo Security two-factor authentication for increased security.

[U]Tech Service Desk

The [U]Tech Service Desk is on hand 24/7/365, even during campus closures, to address any issues or questions for the university community about these remote services or any others. Contact a representative at help@case.edu / 216.368.HELP (4357) / help.case.edu. The [U]Tech C.A.R.E. Center and Ingenuity Bar in KSL are closed when the university is closed.
