MOOCs

MOOCs, or Massive Open Online Courses, are online courses that are free for anyone around the world to take. Typically, a course attracts thousands of learners and takes only a few weeks to complete. To deliver its own MOOCs, CWRU has partnered with Coursera, the world's largest MOOC provider offering hundreds of courses in every discipline imaginable.

Benefits

While preparing to teach thousands of students, an instructor will rethink how his or her content is presented in order to best reach those students and to re-purpose it for other courses and platforms. This promotes recognition of CWRU by highlighting faculty on-campus and via online programs. MOOCs encourage cross-discipline collaboration and University partners. This environment for academic research has the potential for research grants.

Customers

MOOCs can be created by faculty at CWRU interested in strategically promoting on-campus or online programs. Faculty, staff and students can take a MOOC by visiting the Online Learning website's MOOCs page.
