Ohio 5 Business Collaborative

Are you considering a career in finance after earning your bachelor's degree? Case Western Reserve University and Oberlin College are pleased to provide high-achieving Oberlin juniors like you with clear pathways to pursue Master of Finance degrees through CWRU’s Weatherhead School of Management. With our early admission option, this collaborative program is designed to help you become a leader in the finance industry. This degree path is offered with support from the Five Colleges of Ohio, known as the “Ohio 5.”

We guarantee a base merit scholarship of $10,000 for qualified Oberlin students, with the potential to receive an additional merit-based scholarship award.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we understand the constraints you may face in satisfying certain admission requirements. Please request information using the form above and a member of our admissions staff will contact you to discuss how you can still get started toward your goals.

• Earn at least $10,000 in scholarship support—guaranteed for qualified Oberlin students.
• Make one or two approved course substitutions from your undergraduate courses to reduce redundancy in your studies.

Take advantage of summer courses at Case Western Reserve University. These intensive courses give you the chance to leverage your business focus at Oberlin College with a 10-week, finance-based coursework experience that counts toward completion of your degree. 

To be eligible for the program, you must:

Have a GPA of 3.2 or higher

The deadline to apply to the Ohio 5 Business Collaborative is May 15. However, priority consideration for both admission and scholarships is given to candidates who apply by Feb. 1. Admission decisions will be provided within 30 days of application submission.

To apply, complete Weatherhead’s standard application process in the second half of your junior year. 

Earn a B or higher in three specified undergraduate, finance-related courses jointly identified by Oberlin and Weatherhead School of Management

Complete the GMAT or GRE exam, scoring at least in the 75th percentile
