The development of a crude road system on teh Changtang has allowed trucks to reach almost all the nomad district headquarters.  It has also allowed the wooden beams and pillars needed in house and storeroom construction to be imported cheaply from southeast Tibet.  This nomad yak caravan hauls the precious wood the remaining three or four days to the nomad camps.
