Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics - Department of Physics

The Department of Physics at Case Western Reserve University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, to begin in Fall 2025. We seek candidates with research interests in areas including but not limited to Quantum Materials and Systems; Electronic, Magnetic, Optical Materials and Phenomena; Nanophysics. Candidates applying AI to experimental systems are invited to highlight those innovations. 

Position Overview

The successful candidate will:

  • Establish an independent, externally funded research program.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Physics.
  • Mentor students and contribute to an inclusive academic environment.
  • Engage in service to the department, university, and broader scientific community.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Physics or a closely related field.
  • Strong research record in experimental condensed matter physics.
  • Commitment to teaching excellence and fostering diversity in STEM.
  • Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and community outreach.
