Case Western Reserve University, a member of the University Athletic Association, is seeking applicants for the position of Instructor of Physical Education and Assistant Athletic Trainer. As an Instructor of Physical Education, you will contribute to the growth and achievement of many CWRU students through PE curriculum and instruction. As an Assistant Athletic Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Head Athletic Trainer in all aspects of the athletic training program and within the department.
This is a full-time, 9-month position with a competitive salary and excellent fringe benefits. Job responsibilities will be assigned by the Athletic Director and Head Athletic Trainer.
- Teach several Physical Education classes per semester.
- Assist in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
- Provide emergency care and first aid for student-athletes during practices and competitions.
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs.
- Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.
- Collaborate with the Head Athletic Trainer and team physicians to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Assist in the coordination of medical referrals and follow-up care.
- Educate student-athletes on injury prevention, nutrition, and overall health and wellness.
- Assist in the management and maintenance of athletic training facilities and equipment.
- Travel with athletic teams to provide on-site care during away games and tournaments.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Director.

Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required, and a master’s is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates committed to working in an inclusive and diverse environment. We are seeking candidates with a record of impactful student care, treatment, and injury prevention at the collegiate level.
