As a part of a three-position strategic cluster hire in Accounting, Information Systems, and Economics, the Department of Accountancy at Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management (WSOM) invites applications for an open rank tenure-track faculty position in Accountancy, to begin in the 2025-2026 academic year. We invite applicants with qualifications to teach and conduct research in accounting technology topics including, but not limited to, data analytics and AI.
This faculty role, housed in the Accountancy department, will also be part of a strategic cluster of three tenure-track faculty positions in Accounting, Economics, and Information Systems. We seek ambitious scholars whose research explores the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on a wide range of issues, from individual decision-making and job design to employee well-being, and broader topics such as organizational dynamics, labor market transformations, industry disruptions, and the socio-economic implications of AI adoption across diverse sectors.
Applicants should have a demonstrated record of publishing, or the potential to publish, in top-tier academic business and accounting journals and a desire to participate in doctoral education. Applicants for Assistant Professor should have their PhD dissertation completed or near completion and show promise of significant scholarship and teaching ability. Applicants for Associate or Full Professor should also have an emerging or established scholarly reputation, evidence of leadership potential, and years of experience commensurate with the rank sought. Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, etc.) is also expected. Rank will be commensurate with publication and teaching experience. The successful candidate will be expected to share in service to the department, school, and university, and to develop purposeful, professional relationships with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will also be expected to collaborate on interdisciplinary research and grant writing.
The Department of Accountancy in the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University is separately accredited by the AACSB and offers degrees at the Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral levels.
