POSITION OBJECTIVE

The SUD COE is supported with a grant from Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services and is a resource for free training and information on Evidence Informed Practices for treatment providers. Working under moderate supervision, the research associate will assist in the daily management of the Ohio Substance Use Disorder Center of Excellence (SUD COE), assist with data management and analysis and assist with team communication. The ideal candidate will be flexible, willing and able to support all phases of program management, seek clarification when needed and willing to expand their knowledge and skills.  Experience with continuous quality improvement and program evaluation is a plus.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Use statistical software to analyze registration, attendance and survey response data on a weekly basis. (20%).
  2. Track progress on grant deliverables in MS Project File on a weekly basis (15%).
  3. Attend project meetings (at least 3 weekly) and support summarizing meeting discussions and track resulting action items (15%)
  4. Assist with monthly report and dissemination preparation and writing (15%).
  5. Support creation, selection and administration of program evaluation instruments in REDCap.  (10%)
  6. Assist with daily management of project data including registration, training and survey response data using (10%).
  7.  Work with Center staff and contractors to assist with coordination of Center efforts and communication (10%)
  8. Train others how to properly administer evaluation tools as needed (5%).

 

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform other duties as assigned.

 

CONTACTS

Department: Daily contact with supervisor and project teams.

University: Occasional contact with other departments.

External: Occasional contact with state agencies and partners.

Students: Occasional contact with student employees.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

No direct supervisory responsibility; may direct the work of students and research assistants.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience: Master’s Degree or higher in social service or relevant field is required.  Experience working with non-profit agencies, health systems, public health, in the area of substance use and/or mental health evaluation or research projects essential.   

 

REQUIRED SKILLS 

  1. Highly organized with strong quantitative, writing and communication skills.
  2. Proficient with statistical packages such as SPSS.
  3. Ability to assist with the development and execution of data management, analyses and process and outcome program evaluations.
  4. Experience in Microsoft Suite (Word, Access, Excel), email and internet applications. Familiarity with applications or analytic supports such as Microsoft Project, REDCap, Qualtrics/Survey Monkey, Data Query Language, and SPSS Syntax or willingness to be trained on these programs.
  5. Ability to be flexible and respond to changing priorities.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment.
  7. Ability to work with general supervision while being highly self-motivated and self-directed.
  8. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.  Experience responding to RFPs and obtaining external grant funding is a definite plus.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

General working conditions.  May be required to occasionally attend an off-campus, evening or weekend meeting.
