Engineering students at Case Western Reserve University start their hands-on learning experience in their first semester.
The Roger E. Susi First-Year Undergraduate Engineering Experience takes all students interested in engineering out of the lecture hall and into the lab for their first two semesters at Case Western Reserve.
If you aren’t sure what type of engineering to pursue, the work you do in the Roger E. Susi Laboratory will help you determine your pathway. Each project is designed with an expert from a different engineering field. (And we’ve got the best engineering experts at CWRU.)
During the First-Year Engineering Experience, you’ll complete hands-on team projects, combined with data analysis and programming instruction. You’ll also learn how to use equipment in the iconic seven-story, 50,000-square-foot Sears think[box], the largest open-access innovation center and makerspace at any university in the United States.
You will be set up for success with hands-on learning in different areas of engineering.
It’s an experience for all first-year engineering students that you won’t find anywhere else—and it will build a strong foundation for your future in engineering. Your engineering resume will truly stand out!
