Two truths and a lie about nursing at CWRU

CWRU nursing student

Let’s play a game: Two truths and a lie about nursing at Case Western Reserve University.

  1. Our nursing students begin clinical rotations just 3 weeks into their first semester.
  2. CWRU’s Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing is named after Ohio’s first congresswoman.
  3. CWRU undergraduate nursing students provide 15,000 service hours in Cleveland Metropolitan School District schools each year.

The lie: #3
Nursing undergrads actually provide 20,000 hours of service to Cleveland schools.

Another truth, for good measure: Our Health Education Campus, a joint project between the university and Cleveland Clinic, is home to students from the dental, nursing and medical schools. The high-tech campus is designed to encourage teamwork among health care disciplines, which, research shows, regularly leads to enhanced patient outcomes. Take a look around
