“My favorite thing about
Case Western Reserve University is the different career and community opportunities it [offers]. As a pre-medicine student, I have been able to engage myself in organizations that help to link students with the same ambition, ethnicity and values.”
—Pre-med student Alice Lee
Alice Lee is a second-year pre-med student majoring in cognitive science. And when she’s not in class preparing for her next step, she’s taking advantage of a host of opportunities to jump into her future in health care, while helping those around her.
Alice says her interest in the medical field is rooted in her desire to help others. “I believe being part of the medical field, and helping out is uplifting humanity, and personally, for me, there’s no greater gift than healing other persons, saving their lives.”
Her commitment shows in everything she does and the resources she has accessed at CWRU:
Volunteering
- Cardiovascular surgery unit at University Hospitals
- Hospice center
- TeleHealth Access for Seniors
Student organizations
- Students for Refugees
- Zeta Epsilon of Alpha Chi Omega sorority
- Korean American Student Alliance
- Asian American Alliance
Research
- Examining the effect of lipid oxidation on degenerative diseases
Your college experience should prepare you for your next step, in the classroom and beyond. At CWRU, you, like Alice, will be eminently prepared, and the community will be better for it.
