An early leader among women in medicine, Cordelia Agnes Greene was one of the first six women to receive a medical degree from Western Reserve College. She received her degree in 1856 alongside Marie Zakrzewska, Sarah Ann Chadwick and Elizabeth Grisell.
Greene founded and directed the Castile Sanitarium in Castile, New York, and was active in the temperance movement and advocated for women’s suffrage.
