Dean of Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine for nearly two decades and an educator for more than half a century, Jerold Goldberg is a professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
His leadership was pivotal in the formation of the combined DMD and MD program, launched in 1992. During his tenure as dean, the dental school was among the first to implement a white coat ceremony, during which entering students take an oath to put patients’ needs ahead of their own.
In 2014, he received the Distinguished Alumni Award from The Alumni Association of Case Western Reserve University for his accomplishments in curriculum development, service across local and national dental association boards, research and inspiration to others.
