Mandel Family and the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundations

In 1940, brothers Jack, Joseph and Morton (CWR ’13) Mandel launched the Premier Automotive Supply Company, which would go on to become one of the world’s leading industrial and electronic component suppliers. Today, the legacy of the Mandel brothers is carried on through the Mandel Foundations’ support of initiatives in leadership development, management of nonprofits, humanities, Jewish life, and urban engagement.

At Case Western Reserve, the Mandel’s philanthropic engagement dates back over four decades. In 1988, the Mandel brothers made a gift to name the now Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences. In total, the Mandel Foundations and family have contributed over $70 million in support of the university.
