The Global Dialogue Cafe: Autism Virtual Symposium - April 23rd, 2014 - sponsored by the International Center for Autism Research and Education at Case Western Reserve University
A joint project of Cisco Systems, CWRU’s Information Technology Services, the Laura and Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning Program at CWRU and Autism Speaks.
On April 23rd over a five hour period, The Autism Virtual Symposium brings together scholars sharing some of their latest research on Autism in an open and interactive conversation with participants across North America. Fully live "active" participation via Telepresence is available in the cities and locations identified on the schedule below. Individuals who wish to connect via their own personal devices to see and listen to the symposium will have access through a dedicated internet link.
The Global Dialogue Cafe offers an exciting experience for connecting “communities of interest” around the world with international experts in a wide range of subject areas. As opposed to the “passive” educational opportunities available through podcasts, MOOCs, and other more typical online modalities, the technology platform for this project encourages fully interactive engagement from all participants. The Café provides an informal setting for interested individuals to participate actively with others in their local community, as well as at partner locations around the world, in faculty-facilitated discussion on topics of interest to the general community.
