CBHI's Assistant Director for Scientific Programs is Eleni A. Markakis Ph.D., Department of Neurosciences, School of Medicine. Dr. Markakis earned her artium baccalaureus and master’s degrees from Bryn Mawr College (Margaret Hollyday Ph.D.) and her doctorate from the University of Southern California (Larry W. Swanson Ph.D.). She completed postdoctoral fellowships at the Salk Institute (Fred H. Gage Ph.D.) and Yale University School of Medicine (Pasko Rakic M.D. Ph.D.) where she became Assistant Professor in Psychiatry. She studies adult neurogenesis, neurodegeneration, and neural stem cell biology.
