Jessica was born and raised in Cleveland and attended the University of Dayton where she received a BS in Biology in 2002. She joined Dr. Silver's laboratory in the fall of 2002 and has since taken on the roles of head laboratory science technician, research coordinator, and laboratory manager. In addition, Jessica serves as a research assistant for the CWRU Biosafety Level-3 facility located in the Biomedical Research Building.
While working in Dr. Silver's laboratory Jessica received her MS in Pathology from CWRU in 2008. Her thesis project investigated the the role of homing molecules in recruitment of CD4+ T-cells to the lung in recall responses to M. tuberculosis. This work received honorable mention at the 2007 Case Western Reserve Research Showcase, and was subsequently published in the American Journal of Respiratory Cellular and Molecular Biology (45: 24-30, 2011).
