About the Program

Whether you already work in healthcare or hope to transition careers, the online Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management program at Case Western Reserve University is designed to prepare you to lead in the field. Taught by expert faculty at Weatherhead School of Management, the program presents a holistic management approach that covers marketing, finance, lean operations, analytics and business strategy, while focusing significantly on the specifics of healthcare as a business.

Through a combination of live and asynchronous online coursework, you'll gain evidence-based business management skills that will help you execute changes in the healthcare system and, in doing so, improve the well-being of both individuals and society. Our online program is designed for professionals—at any stage of their careers—who aspire to high-level leadership roles in healthcare, such as executive, administrator, business development officer, clinical manager, director of operations, healthcare manager, pharmaceutical manager or a variety of other options.

What to Expect

Our program features a core MBA curriculum that can be applied across industries as well as a healthcare management concentration that accounts for approximately 40% of the program’s credits.

Taught in a cohort-based model of peers from across the country, our healthcare-focused curriculum builds on our long-standing relationships with four nationally recognized Cleveland-based healthcare institutions—Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, MetroHealth System, and the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center—as well as healthcare expertise found across the Case Western Reserve University campus.

Through coursework and two in-person residencies, you’ll learn the operations and outcomes at a variety of types of healthcare organizations—from university-based academic medical providers to group practice-centered organizations to federal and essential hospital providers.
