About the Program

Earn your master’s degree in computer science from one of the nation's top engineering schools: Case School of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. Whether you choose to study 100% online, in person or pursue a research path, you'll be surrounded by top faculty who are dedicated to deepening your knowledge of computer science and preparing you in key focus areas such as artificial intelligence, databases and data mining, security and privacy, and software engineering.

What to Expect

Online

Our online program offers a flexible, unique experience combining live virtual classes with self-paced learning modules. This format is designed for working professionals who seek to balance their studies with their careers. The program is offered in two program tracks to support your computer science skill level.

These tracks include: 

  • A pathways track if you’re in need of foundational computer science coursework, and
  • An advanced track if you have an existing computer science foundation.

On campus 

In our on-campus format, you'll gain experiential and applied learning through co-ops and research opportunities tailored to your interests, combined with a rigorous classroom experience. The program has three distinct tracks to choose from: 

  • Course-Focused, 
  • Project-Focused, or
  • Thesis-Focused.
