Case Western Reserve University’s online Master of Science in Systems and Control Engineering program will prepare you to enter a variety of engineering fields as a knowledgeable professional and effective team member.

With multidisciplinary coursework and research in non-linear control, optimization, signal processing, global modeling and systems biology, you’ll become well versed in systems analysis, design and control. And thanks to our expert faculty, you’ll learn to take a holistic look at—and develop solutions to—the most pressing issues of today and tomorrow.

What to Expect

Whether you’re looking to study systems for renewable energy, automation and robotics, or a variety of other engineering areas, our online MS in Systems and Control Engineering program allows you to customize your coursework to match your interests.

In as few as 16 months, you’ll take 10 classes comprising 30 credit hours: five core courses in everything from leadership to linear systems, and five technical electives in areas such as control, energy and medical imaging.

Admission Requirements

Our program thrives when we have students with diverse perspectives and a range of educational, professional and life experiences. Because of the nature of this program, we prefer students who already have earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering; those with a bachelor's degree in a non-engineering discipline must demonstrate a strong proficiency in calculus, math and other sciences.

The application process requires:

  • Online application, including a statement of purpose
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (either already complete, or will be complete before you enroll)
  • Unofficial transcripts
  • Current resume/CV
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Test scores for GRE
  • International applicants: Results of TOEFL or IELTS
