support the college
The College of Arts and Sciences' development team is happy to work with individuals to find meaningful ways of giving. The team works closely with each donor to ensure that the gift process is as efficient as possible and that every gift is directed to the specific goal or fund that the donor identifies.
There are many ways to express personal philanthropy, including:
- Annual Fund: Gifts in any amount to the college's Annual Fund provide invaluable unrestricted income to the college for such core needs as:
- Student financial assistance
- Faculty research
- Facilities
- Learning resources, such as library acquisitions
- Annual fund gifts also help the college's national stature since the percentage of alumni who contribute is a major factor in national collegiate rankings.
- Dean's Society: Gifts of $1,000 or more annually to the Dean's Society create a powerful pool of funds for the Dean's most important initiatives. Dean's Society gifts help launch important new programs and help leverage other financial resources.
- Student Scholarships and Fellowships: While annual gifts may be designated to student support, commitment of $20,000 or more will establish endowed funds named in honor of the donor for undergraduate student scholarships or graduate student fellowships. These funds provide a permanent source of support for this crucial need. Endowed scholarships are vital to the college's ability to offer access to education for a diverse range of students, regardless of their financial backgrounds. Donors can also elect to contribute term scholarships of $5,000 per year over 4 years.
