Lathia, O'Connor Among Recipients of American Brain Tumor Association Grants

The Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (Case CCC) extends congratulations to two members recently received grants from the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA).

Justin Lathia, PhD received the ABTA Research Collaboration Grant in collaboration with Joshua Rubin, MD, PhD of Washington University in St. Louis. Recipients of this two-year, $200,000 grant demonstrate innovative approaches to their research that involve scientific collaboration. Lathia is Vice Chair of the Department of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Sciences at Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute and Co-Leader of the Case CCC's Molecular Oncology Program.

Christine O'Connor, PhD, assistant staff at the Cleveland Clinic's Genomic Medicine Institute, received a one-year, $50,000 ABTA Discovery Grant. The grant supports cutting-edge, innovative approaches that have the potential to change current diagnostic or treatment standards of care for either adult or pediatric brain tumors. Dr. O'Connor is also a member of the Molecular Oncology Program at the Case CCC.
