Overview
The Case Western Reserve Administrative Professional Series (CAPS) provides training on the policies and procedures that direct employees’ stewardship of university funds. The series is comprised of three online and 10 in-person courses. These courses provide critical information regarding:
- PeopleSoft Financials
- Departmental accounting
- Sponsored projects
- Purchasing
- Travel policy
- Interpersonal communication
Participation
Full- and part-time employees at Case Western Reserve may enroll in CAPS courses. The series is proprietary to the university and is not an accredited academic program.
Employees who complete the CAPS curriculum may test for the Certificate of Achievement in Financial Management. Alternatively, employees can enroll in the courses that are of interest to them—without taking the final exam.
Specific CAPS courses are required for anyone requiring access to the Accounts Payable, eProcurement and General Ledger modules of PeopleSoft Financials. Employees seeking such permissions should review this subset of required CAPS courses.
Program Administration
CAPS is administered by University Technology, [U]Tech and functional leaders from the Division of Finance and the Office of Research Administration (ORA).
