Public Education

The National Center for Regenerative Medicine strives to offer educational resources to the general public about Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research and their clinical applications. In partnership with Edheads, an online educational resource, the National Center for Regenerative Medicine has created a series of educational videos to explain how researchers create stem cell lines and use them for organ repair and transplantation.

Let’s Create a Stem Cell Line

NCRM researchers prepare cell cultures to conduct experiments which ultimately lead to innovative research discoveries. Each stem cell line is prepared using a specific process and various techniques. In this exercise (login required), you will discover some of the techniques used to create different stem cells lines.

Stem Cell Heart Repair

Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Check out how stem cells can be used to repair a damaged heart (login required).

Stem Cell Transplants

A bone marrow transplant replaces damaged or destroyed bone marrow with healthy bone marrow stem cells. Checkout this procedure (login required) and the use of stems cells.
