Participate in one of Case Western Reserve University’s Pre-Orientation Adventures—two-and-a-half-day small-group experiences open to incoming first-year students—Aug. 16−18. Students participating in Pre-Orientation Adventures will move into their fall residence hall assignments between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 and join other participants that night for a welcome dinner in the Thwing Center Ballroom from 6 to 8 p.m.
Pre-Orientation Adventures are fee-based, and cost $230. The fee includes food, accommodations, activities, supplies and transportation to and from campus.
Below is a complete listing of the Adventures available for 2013. Registration for Pre-Orientation Adventures will occur on your New Student Checklist beginning June 1 and ending on July 1.

If you're interested in making new friends, exploring your new city, and completely immersing yourself in Cleveland's efforts to become a Green City on a Blue Lake, this Adventure is for you. This is your chance to get outside, explore, and volunteer at a few of Cleveland's best sustainability success stories. The Green Adventure will allow you to meet local sustainability leaders, learn more about Cleveland's environment, and participate in sustainability service projects at local farms, national parks and Lake Erie's Beaches. Treks!Take a trip to beautiful Ohiopyle State Park in Fayette County, Penn.—19,000 acres of rugged natural beauty that serves as the gateway to the Laurel Mountains. The focal point of the area is the Youghiogheny River Gorge (pronounced yaw-ki-gay-nee), which cuts through the heart of the park for nearly 14 miles. The Yough provides some of the best whitewater rafting in the eastern United States.
