The Office of the University Registrar is responsible for verifying degrees awarded. This service is provided for the benefit of our students and alumni. We reserve the right to refuse verification requests from commercial entities which are intended for profit (i.e., credit card companies). Verification of degrees awarded is required for many purposes—medical or legal associations, insurance companies, licensure, employers, etc.
A Verification of Degree includes degree(s) awarded, major(s), and date conferred. It does not include courses taken or grades attained while a student at CWRU as that information is only obtained through requesting a transcript.

Fees:
There is no charge to current or former students for degree verification services. Please note there is a FedEx option to overnight a degree verification, if requested, which is a $21 charge. Please contact the Registrar's Office to request this service.
Processing Time:
The turnaround time is typically 1 - 3 business days for degree verifications. Please allow for additional processing time during peak periods such as the start and end of classes (mid January, beginning of May, end of August and mid December).
