Our wide range of 3-credit short-term study abroad elective courses travel during winter, spring or summer break and typically do not impact your regular semester schedule.
Open to all undergraduate and graduate students at Case Western Reserve University, and other universities that will allow the CWRU credits to transfer, the Mandel School's short-term study abroad courses provide the experience of a lifetime. Course topics include social welfare, social justice, health care, global health, mental health, substance abuse, macro social and economic issues. Students travel and study with passionate faculty and meet international community and neighborhood leaders, researchers, policy makers, government officials and social workers.
- Study abroad courses are multi-disciplinary and include in-depth study and immersion in countries in Europe, Central America, South America, Africa and Asia
- Course credits are approved for Global or Cultural Diversity for Arts & Sciences majors, Social Science credit for Engineering majors, the Social Work minor or elective course credit
- Financial aid may be used towards program fee and travel costs
- Scholarship opportunity is available for MSW and MNO students
- Alumni and other social work professionals are invited to participate in our study abroad courses on a selected basis
