During the semester I am prepared to meet individually [by appointment] with any and all students enrolled in this course. That is especially true, however, during the first week of class and especially for students with disabilities who are registered with the Coordinator of Disability Services (368-5230) and who may need individual arrangements.

Course Objectives:
Emphasizes both language and culture and is taught in German. Review of grammar and usage of German while studying texts and videotapes which focus on contemporary life in Germany.

Prereq: German 102 or equivalent. Please note: If you have begun German in high school, or at another college or university, this course may be appropriate--but let us determine if you have the "equivalent." See us in the German section for a placement test and/or consultation.

Herzlich willkommen! This course conducts a comprehensive grammar review of basic structures in contemporary German. We emphasize the functional use of language in oral communication as well as reading and writing. Through activities in the classroom, languages laboratory exercises, and homework assignments, we will solidify your understanding of grammar, sharpen your listening skills, increase your active vocabulary in speaking with others, and build your confidence to express yourself with sophistication as you speak and write. This course will be enriched by German songs, video, and a movie. Sprechen wir miteinander auf deutsch!
