David E. Biegel has focused his career on championing community-oriented approaches to social work practice and authored more than 130 publications about caregiving for elderly family members, persons with severe mental illness and those with overlapping mental and substance use disorders. He serves as a consultant for the Ohio Substance Abuse and Mental Illness Coordinating Center of Excellence.
Biegel is the Henry L. Zucker Professor Emeritus of Social Work Practice and a Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Sociology at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences.
