Known for sporting his signature white cowboy hat, David L. Brennan founded the Akron, Ohio-based for-profit charter school, White Hat Management, in 2000, which has since closed.
In 2018, his widow, Ann Brennan, made a $2.5 million commitment in his honor to support annual scholarships for law students who demonstrate financial need and exemplify outstanding leadership potential.
He is the namesake of the David L. Brennan Professorship in the Department of Political Science at Case Western Reserve University.
