President Edward M. Hundert took the lead of Case Western Reserve University in 2002—as the events of Sept. 11, 2001, made their early impacts on the international stage.
During his presidency, The Alumni Association of Case Western Reserve University, a unified network of Case Western Reserve graduates and alumni of its predecessor institutions, took shape. But financial deficits and new university branding that alienated Western Reserve University graduates eventually led to Hundert’s resignation in 2006.
