Arthur L. Parker (CSAS ’1907) invented pneumatic braking systems for trucks and buses. This invention led to the founding of Parker Appliance Co., which evolved into Parker Hannifin Corporation, a leading global manufacturer of motion and control technologies with more than $13 billion in annual sales.
A $2 million commitment from the Parker Hannifin Foundation created the Arthur L. Parker Endowed Chair in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science departments at Case Western Reserve University.
