Ferid Murad (MED ’64, ’65; GRS, pharmacology; HON ’00)

As co-winner of the 1998 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, alumnus Ferid Murad was recognized for his work that revealed how nitric oxide acts as a signaling molecule in the cardiovascular system. Murad’s research made significant contributions to a variety of therapies for cardiovascular conditions and sexual health issues.
