Horsburgh Family

Founded in 1866 by Frank Horsburgh and Thomas Scott, the Horsburgh and Scott Co. has produced gears and industrial transmissions for more than 100 years. Frank’s son Robert G. Horsburgh (GRS ’1914), the namesake of Horsburgh Gymnasium at Case Western Reserve, led the company through the Great Depression along with his brother Thomas. The gymnasium was host to the 2004 Vice Presidential Debate.
