Industrialist and Millionaire’s Row resident John D. Rockefeller gave nearly $1.6 million to Western Reserve University before his death in 1937, including funding the construction of the Rockefeller Physics Building in 1904.
A $2.3 million legacy gift from the Blanchette Hooker Rockefeller Fund, named in honor of the wife of John D. Rockefeller III, supported Alzheimer’s research efforts at the university over 10 years.
