Physician, scientist and entrepreneur Peter Tippett created one of the first computer anti-virus programs—Vaccine, which Symantec later purchased and marketed as Norton AntiVirus. He provided expert insight into identifying the ILOVEYOU and Melissa viruses that broke out in the early 2000s.
Tippett is a former adjunct professor in the Division of General Medical Sciences at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine.
