Winfred G. Leutner (ADL 1901)

President Winfred G. Leutner guided Western Reserve University, his alma mater, through the Great Depression and World War II, serving in his role from 1933 to 1949.

As president, he helped grow Cleveland College into a robust environment for adult learners and working professionals, but his time in the role was also characterized by significant reductions in faculty and staff salaries in response to the economic downturn.
