LIFT: Lightweight Manufacturing Certification Program with CWRU

Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), with support from LIFT – Lightweight Innovations For Tomorrow, a Manufacturing USA institute, the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association, and other industry partners, introduced a professional certification program in Lightweight Additive Manufacturing. The initiative provides Ohio workers an opportunity to become certified or continue their education in this growing, in-demand advanced manufacturing field.

LIFT Class 2

The training program for the incumbent workforce in lightweight innovations was developed through the Siegal Lifelong Learning Program at Case Western Reserve University. It features special open enrollment courses in technical topics based on industry demand while providing an opportunity for those that complete the certification to find full-time employment with industry partners. Current course offerings can be found here.

LIFT, one of the founding Manufacturing USA institutes, and a part of the National Network of Manufacturing Innovation program, is a Detroit-based public-private partnership dedicated to developing and deploying advanced lightweight metal manufacturing technologies, and implementing education and training programs to better prepare the workforce today and in the future.
