What is your background in the field?
My background in software is around full stack development as well as machine learning/deep learning. I am particularly proud of my implementations of on-device inference of deep learning models for iOS and Android apps.
What do you enjoy most about your area of expertise?
I love the mix of technical and creative skills. I love how problems are open-ended and allow for a wide array of solutions, where you can inject your own creativity and personality.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the field?
Build stuff, build stuff, build stuff. You learn so much by trying (and failing) to build things. Most people will value ability to ship products and solve problems over technical, non-pragmatic knowledge.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I love to spend time writing music, hiking, and running around with my dog.
