OhioLINK’s Wiley Open Access publishing agreement is expected to reach annual limits in 2026. This process differs from previous years, due to changes in Wiley’s procedures. Authors may consider alternative APC-free publishing options.

- Wiley’s fully OA journals (publish only open access articles): Beginning July 1, new requests for APC coverage at submission will not be approved. Authors will see an APC denial message. This APC coverage denial does not affect the editorial review process. APC payment is required following editorial acceptance in fully OA journals.
- Wiley’s hybrid journals (publish open and subscription access articles): Limits may be reached as early as this summer. Updates will be posted on Kelvin Smith Library’s website as they become available. Authors will no longer see the option to request APC coverage following editorial acceptance. They will be able to publish as subscription access without an APC or to pay the APC to publish open access with a 10% discount.
