Microsoft released an update for the Windows 8.1 operating system of which all members of the Case Western Reserve community should be aware. This update must be installed by August 2014 and is required to ensure Windows 8.1 systems receive future security updates from Microsoft. This update does not apply to Windows 8 users who have not yet upgraded to Windows 8.1.
If your Windows 8.1 computer does not have automatic updates enabled, it is important to install this update manually from the Windows Update Control Panel.
