Alumnus takes a LLEAP of faith

Thanks to a generous gift from Ray November (ADL ’57, LAW ’61 and ’66), two students will receive an award for their outstanding efforts in the LLEAP program. The award is presented to the graduating student who received the highest grade during their initial law school semester in LLEAP 1, LLEAP being the three-semester component course which focuses on legal writing. The award is also given to the student who received the highest grade in LLEAP 2. November was on hand for the Case Western Reserve University School of Law awards ceremony, where the recipients were honored.

"My time at Case Western Reserve played an integral role in my career," November said. "It was gratifying to be part of the event and share it with my family. I'm fairly certain my five-year-old great-grandson, Liam (pictured above), was the youngest attendee at the event."

The LLEAP program at Case Western Reserve University School of Law is a required, three-semester component of the JD curriculum designed to train students in the core skills of effective lawyering. The name stands for Legal Writing, Leadership, Experiential Learning, Advocacy, and Professionalism, reflecting its holistic approach to preparing students to represent clients and serve as valued members of the legal community.
