Researchers are encouraged to apply for funding for the Barrett's Esophagus Translational Research Network (BETRNet) Pilot Funding Opportunity. Funding will be awarded up to $50,000 for one year with the possibility of a second year of funding based on the success of the program. All faculty members with an appointment at the assistant professor level or higher at institutions participating in BETRNet (Case Western Reserve University, University of Pennsylvania, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Johns Hopkins University, University North Carolina, Washington University and Mayo Clinic) or their affiliates are eligible to apply for pilot project funding.
The program’s overall objectives are:
- To encourage innovative transdisciplinary and translational research, especially high risk/high impact research.
- To explore emerging opportunities and to enhance productivity of the research projects in the BETRNet.
- To attract new researchers, resources and technologies to conduct translational research on BE and EAC.
