Art history’s Erin Benay receives the International Fine Prints and Drawings Foundation’s Best Book of the Year award

Erin Benay, associate professor of art history, director of undergraduate studies and Distinguished Scholar in the Public Humanities, and Britany Salsbury, curator of prints and drawings at the Cleveland Museum of Art, won the Best Book of the Year Award from the International Fine Prints and Drawings Foundation for their exhibition catalogue, Karamu Arts Inc.: Printmaking, Race, and Community

This annual award honors excellence in research, scholarship and the discussion of new ideas in the field of fine prints. In their book, Benay and Salsbury present the Karamu artists as central to histories of 20th-century printmaking.
