The Association for Continuing Education (ACE) at Case Western Reserve University will hold its 72nd annual book sale June 2-5 in Adelbert Gym (2128 Adelbert Road). All funds raised through the book sale support adult education programs, offered by ACE, at CWRU.
More than 80,000 books will be available, covering a wide range of interests, such as:
- Fiction
- Literature
- Performing arts
- Rare and antiquarian books
- Psychology
- Books written in foreign languages
- Religion, philosophy, psychology, sociology
- Fine arts: all periods of art, catalogs, photography
- Cookbooks, craft and needlework, sports, interior decorating, gardening

- Science: anthropology, archaeology, medical, natural and physical sciences

- Multimedia, including CDs, DVDs and vinyl records
- an 1894 edition of Pride and Prejudice, published by George Allen and known for its embossed cover art
- a 22 x 28-inch, pencil drawing on paper of an anti-Hitler political cartoon urging “peace not war.” The image, created by Webb Brown of Richfield, Ohio, was published during WWII in the Akron Beacon Journal
- over 1,000 children’s books
- 3,000 vinyl records and 7,000 CDs
- scores of sheet music
- a range of gifts from the late philanthropist Clurie Bennis, who was among the supporters of City Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music
- many Native American language books, Hindi-English dictionaries and other foreign language books
- exhibition catalogues, hardbound art books with some in foreign languages and coffee-table art books spanning from the Cleveland Museum of Art

The closest parking location is Veale Parking Garage (Lot 53) nearby the gym, which charges a fee. Saturday and Sunday, free parking can be found in Lot 85 (next to the Art Studio Building) and Lot 44 (across the street from the Art Studio). Both parking lots are over the railroad bridge just south of Adelbert Gym and Veale Parking Garage. The sale provides buyers plastic bags for their purchases. Visitors planning to buy large quantities of books are encouraged to bring sturdy tote bags or small shopping carts on wheels, Cash and credit cards will be accepted.Book donations
