Join us for the Ohio premiere of Making Waves: The Rise of Asian America with director Jon Osaki and a panel of educators including Luling (Raina) Li, Shaker Heights City Schools and Stacey Diane Arañez Litam, Cleveland State University. Moderated by Wayne Wong, Executive V.P., OCA Greater Cleveland.
“Making Waves: The Rise of Asian America” is a documentary film that explores the historical development of the Asian American identity and the role of ethnic studies in shaping this identity and advocating for social change. The film highlights the importance of integrating Asian American history into the educational curriculum and combats stereotypes by showcasing the activism and resilience of Asian Americans.
