Attend Multilingual Writing and Speaking Center inauguration
The Multilingual Writing and Speaking Center at Case Western Reserve University invites all our academic community to its launch event this coming Friday, March 27th, at 12.45 pm.
The Center, funded by the Eirik Børve Fund for Foreign Language Instruction, and directed by Drs. Damaris Puñales-Alpízar and Ching-Hsuan Wu, supports the foreign teaching and learning at CWRU. Its mission is to enhance students’ critical thinking skills and fluency in writing and speaking in any of the 11 foreign languages taught by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures.
The Center will assist writers and speakers of all levels and abilities who are learning Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish. Currently, it offers personalized help to students of Chinese and Spanish, but will gradually incorporate the rest of the languages offered by DMLL.
Professors and tutors work one-on-one with students on a variety of concerns, including developing ideas; understanding genres; organizing material; crafting sentences; analyzing and correcting patterns of error; building vocabulary; and improving speaking skills and pronunciation.
