Case Western Reserve University students can participate in Bon Appetit Management Co.’s live take on Iron Chef for a chance to work alongside a professional chef and to win prizes.
The Iron Chef Cooking Competition will pit two teams against one another in creating a meal for a panel of judges in four hours. Each team will be composed of a Fribley Dining Hall chef and four student sous-chefs.
No prior cooking experience is necessary—just a desire to cook on a team and a willingness to do so in front of an audience.
To be eligible to participate in the contest, fill out the submission form and turn it in to a Fribley Dining Hall manager, or email the responses it to beth.kretschamar@cafebonappetit.com by Jan. 29. Applications are available in Fribley Dining Hall or by emailing beth.kretschmar@cafebonappetit.com.
The student submissions will be reviewed and teams will be announced on Feb. 1. The teams will have until the competition on Feb. 6 to meet and prepare to compete.
Those chosen for the teams will receive a $25 Starbucks gift card. Members of the winning team will get an additional $50 Starbucks gift card.
To apply, students must be available for the competition on Feb. 6 from 1 to 5 p.m. Students also must be available to meet with their team for at least an hour the week leading up to the event.
