Biomedical engineering's Emily Graczyk explains sensory prosthetic technology
How Case Western researchers use prosthetic technology to restore the sense of touch
News 5 Cleveland: Emily Graczyk, assistant professor of biomedical engineering, described the sensory prosthetic technology she is testing in a clinical trial. People may worry about using their prosthesis in a social setting, because they might be afraid of grasping someone too tightly, she said. "By providing the sensory feedback we're allowing people to regain function and also to regain social and emotional connection with other people," Graczyk explained.
